What is Soirée Pratique?

A 'Soirée Pratique' is an evening workshop where you can have fun bringing your engineering skills in practice. Past sessions included soldering, micro processor programming, building robots, FabLab creations... Each session takes place on Monday evenings from 19h30-22h.
The main event we organize this year is the sumo robot competition on Wednesday 26th of April.

Soiree Pratique: Aquaponics Construction

Build your own biome!

The IEEE Student Branch Leuven presents the first in a series of Soiree Pratiques on Aquaponics.
In this workshop we will go through the basics of aquaponics and provide some starter material to build your own setup.
Material is available at a discount for IEEE Members. A basic kit will be provided for 20 euros (IEEE member)/ 35 euros (non member).

On Wednesday April 26th at the Machinezaal of the Thermotechnical institute, the IEEE Student Branch Leuven organizes its annual sumo robot competition. Everyone is invited to come and cheer for their favorite robot!

Soirée Pratique: Build your own long range plant sensor

On Tuesday February 28th, the IEEE student branch Leuven and FITCE Belgium will help you build your very own long range plant sensor. The soirée pratique starts at 19:00 with a reception afterwards.

Location: B91.100, Departement Elektrotechniek ESAT Kasteelpark Arenberg 10, Heverlee

During the soirée pratique you will build and program your own LoRa based plant sensor.

The program is as follows:

The first session is on the popular and easy to program Arduino micro-controller which you can also use in other do-it-yourself projects.

We'll provide the Arduino's and equipment, you bring creativity and your laptop if you have one! We'll start with a short introduction and guide you through the setup.
