Curious about the differences between different types of beer and the differences to be expected when tasting beers from the north and the south of Belgium? And eager to know how to combine beer with food?

On Thursdays 22 March, 5 April, 19 April, the IEEE Student Branch Leuven organizes three beer tasting courses with Eric Vandeperre, previous chairman of Zythos, the Belgian beer consumers association.

What to expect?

Thursday 22 March: De Ronde Van Vlaanderen (Flemish beers)
Thursday 5 April: De Waalse Pijl / La Flèche Wallonne (Walloon beers)
Thursday 19 April: Bier & gastronomie (beer and food)

As the titles of the sessions indicate, the explanation about the beers in the tasting courses will be held in Dutch!

Where and when will it take place?

ESAT, room 00.62 at 20h00.

What does it cost?

As non-IEEE member, you pay 15 € per session and 45 € for all three sessions.

As an IEEE member, you only pay 10 € per session. If you participate all courses, as an IEEE member, you only pay 25 € for the three courses. Furthermore, IEEE members get priority with the subscription! As an IEEE member, you are automatically subscribed as long as there are still places left. Non IEEE members are on a waiting list until the moment when subscription is closed. (Becoming a member only costs you 13.5$ as of March 1 (half year fee), for more information, take a look at

You can participate by filling in the sessions you want to attend. Please pay before session starts and bring the exact amount of money, we might keep the change ;-).

Deadline for the registration to all three sessions is Sunday 18 March! After this date, it is only possible to register for sessions 2 and 3.
