EIT-KIC MSc Energy for Smart Cities organizes in collaboration with the Business Creation unit of KIC InnoEnergy Benelux and the IEEE student branch the seminar "Entrepreneurs meet Smart Cities". It will take place on the 6th of March from 16h to 18h at ESAT in room 00.62. Each speaker will talk for 30’ about what they do, what is their innovation and how it was/ is for them to set up a company. At 17h30, a small reception is provided by the IEEE student branch.
On Monday March 10th, 19h30 @ ESAT 02.58,
we organize the first of the Soirée Pratiques of this semester.
This session we'll introduce the Raspberry Pi,
a 'hot-item' for many hobby projects that need some processing power.
The Raspberry Pi provides an ARM based small computer running a full OS for a student budget friendly price!
In this session we'll look at Raspbian, a Linux distribution for Raspberry Pi based on Debian.
Behind the scenes there is a feud between ESAT and MECH since the early days. We've decided to end it on February the 19th, on which date the bravest amongst us will challenge the opponents in an epic shootout at the indoor paintball arena in Merchtem.

Although convinced of our advice for effective communication, many people feel they will not be allowed to use it in practice. Beside “nobody else does it in this way”, the classic assertions to justify resistance to change include “it is not compatible with our template” and “my group leader won’t let me do so”. While such utterances are sometimes no more than excuses for laziness or low self-confidence, the barriers are often real.
On Monday December 2nd the heroic battle of robots will take place in the machine room of the thermotechnical institute.
Multiple robots, carefully tweaked by their creators will contest each other in a breathtaking carnage.
Attendance of the preparational sessions is not required, registration is (below).
*1th: Hubsan X4 mini quadcopter RTF + IEEE membership for 2014
